Warburton & Pinecrest

Adopted by Rory Mulligan

Rory Mulligan is a Hastings-based artist who undertook to beautify a neglected area near his house in 2021. In two short years, he has provided a thriving habitat for pollinators and native plants. Check out Rory's recent show at Grand Central Terminal.

The garden includes a number of plants added since 2021, including:

Asclepias Incarnata - Swamp Milkweed

Asclepias Purpurascens - Purple Milkweed

Coreopsis Zagreb

Coreopsis 'Moonbeam'

Coreopsis 'Mercury Rising'

Liatris Spicata - Dense Blazing Star

Heliopsis helianthoides 'Tuscan Sun'

Agastache foeniculum - Anise Hyssop

Baptisia australis - Wild blue indigo

Viburnum dentatum - Arrowwood viburnum (it's a sad little transplant from my garden, but it's still alive!)

Solidago rugosa - Goldenrod 'Fireworks'

Aster novae angliae - New England Aster

Monarda - Bee Balm

Eutrochium purpureum - Joe Pye Weed

Symphyotrichum lateriflorum 'Lady in Black' - Calico Aster

There has been an increase in other native plants already there, such as American pokeweed, white snakeroot and white wood aster, among others.
